Position Summary
The Client Portfolio Manager – Southeast (External Wholesaler) is responsible for capital raising and relationship development across our Southeast territory, focusing exclusively on Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) and family offices. You will present Origin's comprehensive suite of private real estate investment solutions including our private REIT, real estate credit-focused interval fund, 1031 DST/721 UPREIT programs, sidecars, and opportunity zone fund. The position requires extensive travel throughout the territory, with a focus on presenting sophisticated investment solutions and serving as a brand ambassador for Origin Investments.
The successful candidate will bring established relationships within the RIA and family office channels and demonstrate a proven track record in capital raising within the alternative investment space.
Key Responsibilities
Capital Raising & Business Development
· Develop and execute comprehensive territory coverage strategy to maximize market penetration and capital raising opportunities across the Southeast
· Build and maintain deep relationships with RIAs, family offices, and institutional clients, serving as their primary point of contact for private real estate solutions
· Articulate investment strategies, portfolio construction benefits, and market insights to sophisticated investors
· Identify and pursue new capital opportunities to grow Origin's Southeast market presence
· Achieve annual capital raising targets and contribute to firm-wide AUM growth objectives
Client Relationship Management
· Serve as primary relationship manager for assigned client portfolio, ensuring exceptional client service and retention
· Conduct regular portfolio reviews and investment strategy sessions with clients
· Provide detailed market intelligence and competitive analysis to inform product development and distribution strategies
· Maintain accurate records of all prospect and client interactions in CRM system
· Track and report on territory metrics, pipeline development, and closing ratios
Market Leadership & Thought Leadership
· Stay current on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape
· Represent Origin at industry conferences and events within the Southeast territory
· Collaborate with internal teams to enhance marketing materials and investment presentations
· Monitor competitor products and keep abreast of industry developments to inform business initiatives
· Participate in speaking opportunities and thought leadership initiatives
Internal Collaboration
· Work closely with investment team to communicate market feedback and client needs
· Partner with marketing team to develop territory-specific marketing strategies and materials
· Coordinate with operations and investor relations teams to ensure seamless client experience
· Contribute to strategic planning initiatives and new product development discussions
Required Qualifications
Experience & Background
· 8+ years of demonstrated experience in capital raising, specifically within financial intermediaries and institutional channels
· Experience in financial services, investment management, private banking, commercial real estate, or similar field
· Proven track record of raising capital from and managing relationships with RIAs, family offices, and institutional investors
· Deep understanding of alternative investments, particularly real estate private equity and fund structures
Education & Licensing
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, Real Estate, Business, or related field (MBA, CFA, CAIA preferred)
· Strong academic credentials
Technical Skills
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
· Experience with Salesforce CRM system
· Familiarity with industry databases (Dakota, Discovery Data)
· Experience with financial modeling and investment analysis

· Existing Network: Pre-existing, broad network of established relationships within RIA and family office channels in the Southeast
· Sales Excellence: Proven ability to articulate complex investment concepts and close sophisticated investors

· Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel extensively throughout Southeast territory (60-70% travel expected)
