The Jira Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, and continuous support of the Atlassian Jira environment. This role ensures the platform effectively supports business needs across project tracking, service management, and reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in Jira administration within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid position, requiring 2–3 days per week in-person at our headquarters in Atlanta.

Essential Job Functions
Administer, support, optimize, and manage licenses of all Atlassian tools to provide efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide governance and industry best practice guidance to maximize the return on investment.
Monitor system performance and usage, escalating issues as needed.
Customize and configure Jira projects, workflows, permission schemes, screens, fields, and automation rules.
Support internal teams with Jira requests, troubleshooting, and training to improve platform usability and adoption.
Design and implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into Jira configurations that support business goals.
Create and maintain custom dashboards and reports for multiple user groups.
Manage user access and permissions in alignment with IT governance policies.
Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and integrations with third-party tools and Atlassian Marketplace apps.
Support audit readiness by maintaining data integrity, traceability, and documentation of changes.
Provide Jira-related documentation and best practices guidance to internal users and teams.
Stay up to date with Atlassian product updates, features, and industry best practices.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
2+ years of experience administering Jira Cloud, including Jira Software and Jira Service Management.
Experience administering Confluence or other Atlassian tools.
Demonstrated expertise in configuring workflows, screens, fields, permissions, automations, and notification schemes.
Strong understanding of Agile project management methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Jira Automation (Automation for Jira), with the ability to build and manage complex rules to support workflow efficiency.
Experience with user and group management, including integration with SSO/Active Directory.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.

Preferences
Atlassian certifications (e.g., ACP-100, ACP-400).
Familiarity with REST APIs and Jira integrations with other business systems.
Exposure to SOX or other compliance frameworks is a plus.
Experience with ITSM concepts and tools.
