Role Overview:
Concorde Education is seeking a passionate and engaging Household Science Instructor for a part-time, in-person summer program in Winlock, Washington. This course is designed to introduce elementary school-aged students to the exciting world of science through hands-on experiments and real-world applications. Students will explore a variety of scientific topics and develop essential skills such as observation, data collection, analysis, and drawing conclusions. The goal is to spark curiosity, promote critical thinking, and instill a lasting love for scientific discovery.
Responsibilities:
Deliver interactive, age-appropriate lessons in household science using hands-on experiments
Use a provided curriculum to guide students through engaging scientific topics
Foster curiosity and support the development of observation and analysis skills
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
Adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of elementary-aged learners
Collaborate with Concorde supervisors and site staff to ensure a successful program
Qualifications:
Experience teaching science or leading hands-on educational activities
Prior experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
Clear communication and a passion for sparking curiosity in young learners
Background in science education, elementary education, or a related field is a plus
