Job Title: Neuro Trauma ICU RN
Location: Asheville, NC
Job Summary: The Neuro Trauma ICU RN provides leadership, facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care for patient comfort and well-being, and utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and teaching. The role implements medically prescribed interventions.
Qualifications:
Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Effective 3/1/18 Bachelor of Science in Nursing OR enroll in a BSN or advanced degree program within 6 months AND obtain a BSN within 4 years of hire date into RN position. Previous signed BSN commitment letter OR grandfathering will be accepted between departments and Mission Health entities. Exemptions may be approved with CNO System Council approval.
Preferred Education: master's in nursing.
Required License/Certifications: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON. Certificate: BLS Healthcare Provider.
Preferred License/Certifications: National Certification in area of specialty.
Required Experience: One-year ICU hospital nursing experience. Professional Resume (not from Indeed).
General Comments: The unit has 20 beds (currently 16 about to go to 20), and the ratio is 1:2 and occasionally could be 3 depending on staffing needs. The patient population is trauma and neuro, and the unit experiences a seasonal census: higher in summer and fall. Patients are on life support, titrating drips, and acuity is much higher than trauma care. The team-based nursing model in this unit requires a lot of walking and teamwork to cover everyone. The unit also does Multi-disciplinary rounding, which is nurse-driven rounding of all clinical providers and care team at one time discussing patient and status-depends on provider availability-Mon-Fri. Patient length of stay is 3-5 days, and patient transfers most often go to TCU or Neuro. The Neuro Trauma ICU RN must be able to handle a very busy, fast-paced unit.
Compensation: Salary range from $24.00 per hr. (min), $33.83 per hr. (mid for approx 15+ yrs. experience), $41.36 per hr. (max for approx 25+ yrs. exp) and based on years of experience. Shift Differential: 2nd $4.00 per hr, 3rd $6.00 per hr. weekend $3.50 per hr. Sign-on/relo up to 10K (nights only) for qualified candidates with a 2-year commitment. Paid out on the 1st check.
Shifts: Night shifts but could consider days but focus should be on nights.
Pay Range: $24.00 - $43.65 per hour
